[edit] "talk to kids about kids"
beautiful.. five words, six syllables.. simple.. core.. if a good story is all about the learners, then the input is meaningful.. meaningful input is what makes language learning happen..
[edit] who?
who is talking to kids about kids? the implicit meaning here is teachers talk to kids about kids.. is this all about teachers? or learners too? to if our purpose is learner-centric, to make storaysking all about learners, then maybe we could add one little one syllable word to susie's beautiful, memorable, core principle:
[edit] kids talk to kids about kids
why go for a few thousand teachers when we can reach for millions of learners? why not teach anyone to teach language, simply? the art of circling or asking good questions ain't rocket science; any bilingual child can learn it.. maybe that can help us to learn languages..
[edit] why?
it's a major effort to get adults to change their ways.. adult minds are like rooms decorated with so many opinions and beliefs.. changing adult minds costs so much energy.. it's like trying to swim upstream.. going with the flow, working with learners, we'll get more results.. kids are forming, learning, open to new ideas, new ways.. storyasking is all about learners..
[edit] oh really?
Q: you claim listening or input is what makes language learning happen.. now you claim learners need to output to teach each other.. wtf?
