ask a story to connect with learners.. but first, make sure you know how to listen.. if you know how to listen, then you can storyask.. as we learn to storyask, we can create more langauge learning.. [edit] listenwhat's the use of asking a story if you can't hear the answer? most of us think we know all the answers, so we don't really ask good questions, because we're not really listening or able to hear the answer.. so before asking any stories, it might help to learn to listen.. [edit] askthe more we can listen, the better we can ask whoever we're teaching.. what's the story? asking the learner what the story is involves the learner in the story.. it makes the story interesting, compelling, meaningful.. we can ask good questions to make sure that everyone understands.. especially the very best students.. asking is a way to keep the group together, learning what we all want to learn, really.. [edit] storyUNDER CONSTRUCTION: still trying to figure out how "story" is used and what means, when and where.. can it get any simpler? what is not a story? |
