communicate.. what does language want to do?

this stumpy stub maybe wansta say:

  • foreign language class wants to teach perfect grammar too early
  • TPRS language class wants to teach people to communicate first
  • storyasking wants to help more people learn more language

[edit] problem

illustrate a common mistake in language training: trying to follow rules perfectly

  • grammar only works w/ 4%ers
  • teaches 96% of us that we're no good at language
  • foreign language teaching regime perpetuates itself

stop the madness.. people want to communicate but don't care about grammar.. keep the communication, drop the grammar and people will learn language more easily

[edit] solution

explain why the solution, fault-forgiving focus on communication leads toward more perfect instinctive correctness..

[edit] conclusion

conclude: nothing wrong with intent to speak/write correctly.. the more perfect way to get more correct more quick is focus on communication..
