connect
From storyasking
|
connect means make language more meaningful to someone.. if a chunk of language has been generally defined, that's great.. it's one small step away from being incomprehensible and one big step toward being known.. there are many, many steps to go.. these steps, to be effective, need to connect with the learner.. with what an individual learner: in TPRSĀ®, PQA is a tool used to connect defined language with a learner, by making it personal, by making it about the learner.. questionnaires are used to learn personality traits unique to separate, individual learners.. these personal character traits can be woven into stories that connect with the learner, because they are about the learner.. about what makes a learner unique or different.. can connection also be made with what makes us similar? what we share? what we have in common?
can connection also be made with inherited wisdom, in the form of dichos, age-old quotes or "popular sayings"? can connection also be made with popular music, especially with celebrated storytelling songs that almost everyone knows? NOTE: this page is a mess.. a brain dump.. a first step toward mt fuchi.. fix it |
each element of define, connect, confirm storyasking process reflect the other two elements.. if one element is key to learning, it maybe be to connect the language with the learner.. for example, language should be defined and confirmed to truly connect with a learner.. |
