language in storyasking usually means words that people actually think mean something.. once in a while we might say "languages" meaning languages that people fight over.. like the English or the Spanish.. but most of the time we use the wider meaning of the word "language" to mean the whole enchilada.. how language is used and what it wants to say..

[edit] language

one way to define "language" is: communication: which words are chosen and how they're said to mean what.. little differences in word choice and expression makes a big difference in what language means.. even if you don't understand what words say, if someone is screaming in your face you might get a feeling for what the language means.. you get the message..

[edit] languages

there's a whole lot of languages on earth.. 7,000 human languages, millions of words, a gazillion ways to put'em together.. maybe two basic messages.. or there's math.. or music.. but now there's something new.. now, there's this thing called the internet.. and the more internet there is, the more we all communicate.. but in which language?

is it a good time to learn some more language?

defining language this way lets us play with the idea of classifying language by english, spanish etc.. we can play with mixing language if we like.. after all, 40% of english is french, and now yo quiero taco
