integrity in storyasking means with no conflict.. being complete, undivided and whole.. if a group comes together to learn language, there is a group mind focused on the learning.. if the intended learning is boring or incomprehsible, then the mind wanders, attention is divided, and the learning doesn't happen.. "integrity" is proposed to clarify the idea of group discipline, which implies punishment and even punishment by rewards.. in real terms of classroom management, this proposal may seem hopelessly idealistic.. but storyasking isn't limited to classrooms within institutions.. storyasking aims to serve anyone who wants to help others learn language.. language learning can happen in many places:
may sound crazy now, but impossible is nothing.. storyasking focuses more on meaning than learning of words.. words are tools to communicate meaning.. people communicate meaning all day long, in all kinds of languages.. because people want to wrestle, gossip, mess around, play with words, have fun, learn.. so anytime there's a group gathered, formal or informal, online or in real life, and there is focus on learning new language, then a key ingredient to make learning shake and bake might be described as "integrity" or undivided attention in a group mind.. |
