simple

From storyasking

"to storyask" is a verb meaning "to ask good questions" or "to teach each other language".. so, what is language? why learn language? how do we learn language? answers: comprehensible input? meaningful input? play?

TPR Storytelling® or "TPRS" is a pretty simple language teaching tool used in many schools, mostly in the U.S.A... could TPRS be modified, simplified and promoted to better serve language learners worldwide?

TPRS works for a lot of reasons:

  • it varies repetitive, interesting, comprehensible input
  • it focuses on what the language *learner* needs
  • Blaine Ray is an inventive, effective leader
  • many teachers help the method evolve
  • people love being part of stories

storyasking could be like TPRS but maybe more simple:

the simplest keys to language learning, simply described, can translate more easily to more and more languages.. so even kids around the world can learn to teach each other language.. that's the idea..

simple..

"Although TPRS may look complex, it is not. The novice TPRS teacher need only learn how to circle, pause and point, go slowly, and focus on CI and personalization to the exclusion of everything else. As long as one is doing CI and personalization in some form, the requirements for doing TPRS are met." Ben Slavic

translation? "to storyask is simple.. learn to listen, circle, point and pause, go slow, make input meaningful."
